The National Pickleball League - Season 3 kicks off on March 15th, 2025!
About NPL | Elevating The Game.
The National Pickleball League is Australia’s premier professional pickleball competition, featuring the top 72 players across 18 teams in three states. In NPL 2025, teams will compete over two thrilling seasons, with 5 rounds per season in their respective state conferences. The best teams from across the country will battle for the ultimate prize—NPL Championship glory—and the chance to earn exclusive PWR World Series points, paving the way to international competition.

Team Composition
Each Team
6 players (3 Men, 3 Women)
- 4 Primary Players (play three games per match)
- 2 Secondary Players (play two games per match)
Draft
18 Team Captains selected from around Australia & New Zealand
- 15/18 Captains have been announced at NPL Season 1 Finals
1 Hour Online Virtual draft – Thursday July 25th at 6pm
Formats
5 Rounds
- A 5 round season will culminate with a Finals Weekend.
- All 5 rounds will be played within the State.
- The rounds will be spread over 3 months.
- The finals will be held over 3 days as the state champions fight it out for the ultimate glory.
Rounds
- 5 rounds – Played within your home state (no interstate travel required)
- 1 day commitment for 7 hours (Saturday)
- 2 matches played each round
- Play all teams in your state twice (equality)

- Top 9 Teams – 3 Days
- Top 4 Teams receive double chance
- Night 1 – 3rd Place Playoff for Final 2 Teams
- Day 1 – Qualifying, Elimination & Semi Finals
- Day 2- Preliminary & Grand Final

NPLeague showcases the best players in Australia across both Singles & Doubles disciplines.
Each match consist of 4 Sets & a Dill Breaker if required.
1st Set = Women’s Singles
- Best of 3 games
- 3 separate singles games played by 3 individual players
- All 3 games always played
- Team with 2, individual wins, wins the set
- Player 1 is top ranked singles DUPR player
- Order of player 2 & 3 is captain selection.
- First to 11, traditional scoring, win by 2
2nd Set = Gender Doubles
- First to 22, win by 2, traditional scoring
- 2 pairs per team
- Pair 1 – first to 11
- Pair 2 – continue to 22
- Pair 2 will sub in once either team reaches 11
3rd Set = Men’s Singles
- Same format as Women’s singles
4th Set = Mixed Doubles
- First to 33, win by 2, traditional scoring
- Pair 1 – first to 11
- Pair 2 – continue to 22
- Pair 2 will sub in once either team reaches 11
- Pair 3 – continue to 33
- Pair 3 will sub in once either team reaches 22
- Captain selection for who plays in each pair. No restrictions.3 pairs per team
